Initial preheat of 350°F
Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a basin. Mix.
Using a separate basin or mixing bowl, cream together the brown sugar, white sugar, and butter. Beat in the eggs one at a time until the mixture becomes airy. Mix in the vanilla extract.
Combine the dry ingredients with the sugar. Combine the mixture by mixing it.
Add the chocolate and caramel pieces and fold in. Place the dough spheres, measuring 1 1/2 to 2 inches in diameter, on a baking sheet. Thirteen to twelve minutes,
Immediately following the removal of the cookies from the oven, arrange three caramel pieces atop each cookie and garnish with coarse salt. As the caramels soften, the salt will solidify. If necessary, re-establish the cookies in the oven for an additional minute to facilitate the melting of the caramel pieces.
